Known for her ethereal vocals and thoughtful approach to sound, Dylann Miller is a composer for media and stage and a singer/songwriter presently based in Toronto, ON.
Her work as a composer includes scores for media such as horror, animation, drama, documentary and music for video games. Current projects include the upcoming films Lure and Heavens Apart and recent projects include Richard Rotter’s horror short, Blood Line and Lucy Belgum’s Queer Western Sci-Fi short, Stranding. Dylann has a passion for creating new and unusual sounds, incorporating many of her own vocals and customized instruments into her scores, resulting in fresh, dynamic pieces. As a singer, Dylann is well versed in a variety of extended techniques and loves to develop unique sound worlds. She frequently incorporates her own vocals into her scores and songs, as well as in collaboration with other artists.
Her work has been recognized by awards from Arcady’s Young Composer Competition (2017), the SOCAN Foundation (2016); and participation in the SOCAN Foundation’s 2022 Screen Music Laboratory for Emerging Composers and the 2022 & 2023 Equity X Production Mentorship Program, the 2020 Piano Lunaire Composer’s Symposium, the 2019 Toronto Creative Music Lab (2019) and the 2018 Waterloo Region Contemporary Music Sessions.
